Love Scrapbook Layout by Autour

Hey everyone! Today Autour has a gorgeous February kit project to share.

He added one of the chipboard shapes over the photo.and layered it with one of the feathers off the washi book strip.

He added some ink splatters around his page & some of the splatters are on the button sticker, which looks really neat!

I love how he fussy cut around those washi feathers & added them to the page. They look really striking like that.

Autour did a lot of layering on this layout. The chipboard banner, title, and the star sticker made for some visually appealing layers.

I hope you enjoyed this gorgeous layout. Tomorrow Kim will be back with some planner inspiration for you.

Have a lovely day!

XO,
Sami

Smile for Me Layout by Soraya

Hi lovelies,

Soraya has some gorgeous eye candy to share with you today. She made this beauty using the February Embellishment kit along with some older kit embellishments.

Here’s a closer look at the beautiful Feb chipboard banner she made using some past kit rhinestones and some twine. Her title was made with a die cut & some cork alphas from a past kit. I really love how she had the title on the diagonal.

Here are some more closeups. The layering on this layout is absolutely stunning.

I hope you enjoyed seeing Soraya‘s layout today. Have a lovely day!

XO,

Sami

Hello Hermes Layout by Megan

Hello everyone! It’s Megan! I was so excited when I saw the feather and love motif in this month’s February 2017 Freckled Fawn embellishment kit kit! I knew immediately that I wanted to start documenting our new bird, Hermes.

Of course, the feathers are great even if you don’t have an avian friend, feathers can be good for documenting love (think “birds of a feather flock together,” “our nest,” or even “you ruffle my feathers”).

I love all of the colors in the kit–it gave me so many options! But sometimes options are overwhelming. If you are having trouble choosing which elements from a kit to use, try just picking two or three colors and sticking with those. This can also help you get out of the mindset of the kit’s theme (February’s kit isn’t just for Valentine’s Day!). For my layout, I choose to use mostly the teal with a few pops of pink.

I had fun making this layout on the diagonal, using a combo of photos and pocket scrapbooking cards for big “stripes” and embellishments from the kit for smaller stripes. I added two teal “love” strips from the washi booklet across the middle, a pink feather washi strip in opposite corners, and finished the corners off with puffy border stickers.

This is a really easy design to scraplift and can be used with lots of different photo size variations!

I used the vellum phrase stickers as a border for this card and added an epoxy heart in the center–which meant that some of the sticker went off the edge of the page and was cut off. Epoxy takes some force to cut through and sometimes the piece you cut off will go flying, so be careful!

I added two button stickers and a feather chipboard sticker to a journaling card. The feathers can be used like arrows, pointing in the direction you want the viewer’s eye to travel on the page.

I finished off the page with the big wooden “I love you” heart in the middle of a feather card!

I’m so happy with this first page about Hermes and I know I’ll be making tons more.

Do you document your pets? How about using this month’s kit as a love layout for your feathered, furry, or gilled friend? I’d love to see what you make!

XO,

Megan

The Best Layout by Soraya

Happy Saturday!

Today, the lovely Soraya has some February embellishment kit inspiration for you.

She created this amazing background using the Freckled Fawn journaling cards. Some of these are February cards and some are past month cards.

She used many of the February kit items to embellish: washi book, chipboard shapes, puffy borders, wood heart, and vellum phrases. She also used past kit items too. I love the combo of old and new products on this one.

Here’s a closer look at her title: The Best, which was made with a wood chip. So pretty!

Look at all those beautiful layers!

Be sure to stop by Soraya’s blog to see even more of her gorgeous creations!

XO,

Sami

Miss You Already Process Video by Jen

Hey there! Jen Schow here to share with you a layout I created inspired by the Washi Tape sketch challenge.

Some of the other designers have created some sketch inspiration for you  so I’ll tack their lovely projects onto the end of my post.

The sketch shows a large heart covered in washi and I decided to take that idea and apply it to my title.

I cut out my letters on my Silhouette and then used the washi strips included in the February kit to cover them. It’s a super fun way to get an interesting look and use up some of the washi in your stash. 🙂

I also used some of the Love Journal cards and cut the orange florals from them. LOVE that floral motif. So pretty!

The little button stickers were the perfect finishing touch. I ended up threading them with a bit of crochet twine and popped them up. So cute!

You can see how it all came together in the video below.

Watch on YouTube

Full disclosure, I thought I was doing the Washi Tape challenge, but I didn’t realize it had a sketch (hanging my head in shame), so I mention it in the video. Either way, I hope you’ll try something fun using your washi!

And now for some more sketch inspiration:

Kristina created washi triangles.

Kim added washi to her heart background on this bible journaling page:

Megan created a washi heart for her layout:

Sami created a heart with a diagonal stripe on her layout:

Click the sketch below to play along today!

XO,

Jen
