July Planning with Kim

Hello lovelies! Kim here with a July planner spread.

I’ve done several planner spreads with the July Embellishment kit (the Planner kit is sold out!), and I totally love the summer vibes feel associated with it!

The best part of these kits are the flexibility of them; you can be either unstructured or structured in nature depending on your style of planning!  Today I’ll show you both ways, using the same planner.

My first planner spread using this kit is totally unstructured.

The alphas in this kit mirror the washi tape so well I wanted to feature them together in this fun little corner mimicking a camp sign post.

I used the labels to write down some tasks for the day and I also included a picture of our recent vacation since I was reminiscing on how fun a time we had!

I have no problem stapling the rubber shapes onto the page! It always adds a bit of fun texture to your layouts along with the glitter icon stickers!

Now, here are the pages for the structured layout!

On the top part of the page, I used the alpha to highlight the activities we have for each day.

Then on the bottom of the page, with a background of watercolor, I added my to do lists.

The label and chipboard stickers are a great fill in for the space left over and the perfect place and some more reminders!

I love the versatility and variety in each and every kit.  Go grab yourself one too!

XO,
Kim

Two June Projects by Kristin

Hello lovelies, Kristin here!

I’ve got two projects to share with you. Both of these were made with the June embellishment kit. The first is my take on the June sketch challenge. There are only a couple more days to play along.

A Story About My Favorite Place
I absolutely loved the colors of this month’s kit. I thought it was perfect to help me document a story about my favorite place on the planet — The Temple of Dundur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
For my title, I used a large alphabet stamp and black ink to stamp the letters ‘met’, I added the word ‘the’ in my own handwriting above it. I added the orange arrow sticker from the washi strip tape to the right of the title, pointing upwards at my photo, towards my embellishment cluster.
To create the journaling lines, I carefully trimmed one of the striped washi tape lines, so that each line only had a single strip. I then cut down each strip so that it would fit inside the notebook, leaving a little bit of room on both sides.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

June Sketch Layout by Odessa

Hello lovelies! Odessa here!

I was so inspired by the May/June Freckled Fawn sketch that I reworked it using the June Embellishment kit.You can see the sketch & play along below!

I decided to translate the sketch into a Traveler’s Notebook spread. I always print TOO MANY pictures for my weekly spreads so I like to keep the extras for when I feel like having some fun. I like to think of my Traveler’s Notebook as my scrappy sketch book. It’s a place where I can have fun, experiment or do whatever! I don’t do a lot of traditional layouts, but I have a great love of collage so it’s a great way to put the two together.

I kept the basics of the sketch intact – two pictures laid horizontally across a strip of paper on top of another strip. Since the sketch was specific to the May kit, this is where I had to get creative! Since the kit was so summery I decided to do a spread with a summery feel about getting going (in flip flops of course).

I used a word chipboard to the right of the photo in place of the washi strip along with the fun flip flop resin piece instead of the chipboard star. Up above I decided to add in those amazing acetate number pieces (I love that the kit comes wth 3 of each!!!) to go with the get going theme I had going on along with some of the cute enamel hearts. I added in some ephemera and voila! All fancy!

Below I used one of the word washi strips for the title and then finished it off with some simple journaling. And that’s how I translated the May Sketch over to the June Kits with a fresh summery feel.

I hope you will give the sketch a try! Click here to play along.

Have a lovely day!

XO,
Odessa

June Planning with Kim

Hello lovelies,
Kim here with a June TN spread!

Hello Summer! So happy to be joining you on the other side of school concerts, sports playoffs and final exams! It’s time to get ready for our brief time off with my monthly June layout using this retro-fun kit!

This cute little corner was made possible by those fabulous washi stickers.  I used the scalloped strip bleed for the left edge and nestled this three some of circles together to fill in rare empty date.  I separated the heart and star washi decoration on its own so that I could place each on game dates. Since they start at the same time and at the same place. it seemed like a logical solution to simplify and honestly I wasn’t too jazzed about writing “Tyler’s baseball game @6” 10 times:)

Each of the numbered acetate die cuts are so varied in print and color but I think the six paired well with the washi strips and the epoxy hearts to round out this corner.

I doesn’t take much or time to add some zest to our planners.  A smidge of eye candy to see while reminding me of those important dates and also to suggest that this is the time for rest and refreshing….between baseball games:)

Thanks for joining me!

XO,
Kim

Traveler’s Notebook on the Go with Megan

Hello lovelies,

Megan here!

I just took a trip to San Antonio, and I brought my May Kit and traveler’s notebook with me so I could make a few pages on the go! I ended up finishing most of the album when I got home so I could print out photos, but I made one spread while traveling using a business card and an Instax photo.

Because the card and the photo were a similar size, I decided to go with basically the same design on both pages, but flipped so they would mirror each other.

The flowers in each corner, trimmed off of the edge of the page, help anchor the rest so all of the elements aren’t just floating in the middle.

I love the White Puffy Stickers on the white background. Framing the words with minimal embellishments helps make them stand out!

I really wanted to use the days of the week washi from the kit, but I wanted a longer strip than just the word Friday, I used chipboard sticker for journaling and to cover up the other days of the week.I also could have cut out and repeated “Friday” or circled / framed it, but this was a good quick solution!

I love how cute this spread came out with limited supplies! I decided to carry on and use just photos, words, and the May kit for the rest of the album. You can see the rest here.

Do you scrapbook in traveler’s notebooks on the go?

Have a lovely day!

XO,
Megan

Weekend Getaway Traveler’s Notebook Spreads by Kim

Hi there, Kim here!

We recently went to Columbus Ohio for a rare weekend getaway! I wanted to document some stories from this journey and why not do it while fresh in out minds hearts- on the way home in the car!

I used the April Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit for these three layouts as well as a new blank travelers blank notebook insert.

Which at first glance is quite bright and floral-ly but it is so modern and sharp at the same time!  (I love the polygon shapes!)

Yellow and black are surprisingly stricking with purple, a color combo I’ve not used before! Using the screen shots from Instagram Stories and Snapchat I saved them in a grid photo collage and printed them out at a Walgreen’s as we were leaving town. Not bad for $1.05! The frames and journal cards we great bases for two of the pictures.

On the next page, I used a more subdued palette, teal and red/pink.  2 more journal cards were bases, but also the sticky note paper was one as well!  I also was a bit cheeky, using one of the long enamel diamond stickers as a torch in honor of Olympian Jessie Owens.

My last double page was for the zoo.  The green journal card was perfect on an angle while using several of the chipboard “lovely day” stickers as accents.

And no, my handwriting is much to be desired for but not bad for a jiggly car with no table. Not a bad use of time, a couple of hours, plus my documenting is complete!

Thanks y’all!

XO,

Kim

TV Journal: Time Jump by Kristin

Hello Lovelies,
Kristin here! I keep a bunch of traveler’s notebooks going on at the same time. One of my favorite notebooks to grab is my Television Journal. Inside my TV journal, I art journal about whatever shows I’m watching at the moment.
In this spread, my topic was the recent time jump in one of my favorite TV shows. I used the post it notes from the April Planner Kit to create a patterned paper background for my title and journaling. I embellished the right page of the spread with some of the purple toned elements in the April kit, as they complimented both the pink tones in the graphic and the vellum purple alphas in the title.

XO,
Kristin
