I just took a trip to San Antonio, and I brought my May Kit and traveler’s notebook with me so I could make a few pages on the go! I ended up finishing most of the album when I got home so I could print out photos, but I made one spread while traveling using a business card and an Instax photo.
Because the card and the photo were a similar size, I decided to go with basically the same design on both pages, but flipped so they would mirror each other.
The flowers in each corner, trimmed off of the edge of the page, help anchor the rest so all of the elements aren’t just floating in the middle.
I love the White Puffy Stickers on the white background. Framing the words with minimal embellishments helps make them stand out!
I really wanted to use the days of the week washi from the kit, but I wanted a longer strip than just the word Friday, I used chipboard sticker for journaling and to cover up the other days of the week.I also could have cut out and repeated “Friday” or circled / framed it, but this was a good quick solution!
I love how cute this spread came out with limited supplies! I decided to carry on and use just photos, words, and the May kit for the rest of the album. You can see the rest here.

Which at first glance is quite bright and floral-ly but it is so modern and sharp at the same time! (I love the polygon shapes!)
Yellow and black are surprisingly stricking with purple, a color combo I’ve not used before! Using the screen shots from Instagram Stories and Snapchat I saved them in a grid photo collage and printed them out at a Walgreen’s as we were leaving town. Not bad for $1.05! The frames and journal cards we great bases for two of the pictures.
On the next page, I used a more subdued palette, teal and red/pink. 2 more journal cards were bases, but also the sticky note paper was one as well! I also was a bit cheeky, using one of the long enamel diamond stickers as a torch in honor of Olympian Jessie Owens.
Kristin here! I keep a bunch of traveler’s notebooks going on at the same time. One of my favorite notebooks to grab is my Television Journal. Inside my TV journal, I art journal about whatever shows I’m watching at the moment.
In this spread, my topic was the recent time jump in one of my favorite TV shows. I used the post it notes from the April Planner Kit to create a patterned paper background for my title and journaling. I embellished the right page of the spread with some of the purple toned elements in the April kit, as they complimented both the pink tones in the graphic and the vellum purple alphas in the title.

This TN spread was inspired by the ‘adventure’ acrylic piece in this month’s kit. I pulled together some supplies that coordinated with the piece, including patterned paper, and this photo that had just enough orange to work perfectly.
On this page, I documented an adventure that we had in Brooklyn with friends visiting from California. With the prompt written on the left side, I already had a title for the page. I did a little bit of journaling on top of the photograph to round out the story.
Hey everyone! Sami here with another Washi Wednesday Tutorial.
I recently made a cover for my Traveler’s Notebook insert and I wanted to share it with you. I really loved how last week’s clean and simple thank you cards turned out with the Chevron Washi that was part of the March Embellishment Kit and Planner Kit. I wanted to take that a step further by making a TN notebook cover.
Lately I have been using a Freckled Fawn Sleek TN in the color Rich Teal. I just LOVE the texture on this TN. It’s gorgeous!
Here is the quick video showing how I made my cover:
I’ve been using a Traveler’s Notebook as my everyday documentation project for 2017. I’ve been creating double-page spreads for whatever everyday stories are calling to me. With this spread, I document how winter is making me feel using the March 2017 Embellishment kit.
February is the hardest month for me personally. It’s always so cold, it still gets dark super early, and spring doesn’t really seem to be in sight just yet.
I used my Polaroid Zip printer to print our a 2×3 photograph that I stuck down in the bottom left hand corner of the spread. I journaled next to the photo, and left the right side of my spread to hold the title.
I have recently switched over my “to-go” calendar to be housed in my Freckled Fawn Travelers Notebook. There is a week overview and each day has it’s own timed daily in these inserts which makes it really fun to deck out my planner!
Using the March kit, I’ve done the whole week exploration style with the wonderful mapped arrows and bright orange washi tape.
I loved the abundance of tag stickers and used them along the spine to house the big boys practice schedule.
On the next page I used that arrow washi and doubled it up on the bottom of the page. Gives it a little grounding and dimension with it in two layers. I have also cut the square in half and placed it on the edges of the column for focus on some FF to-do’s.
The large puffy stickers add a bit of bold pop along with the arrow bleeds to house more list making.
I again used some sticker bleeds in combination to the regular tags and arrows.
Cutting the single piece of washi into columns made the design very different, don’t you think?
And for my weekend vibes, I used the wood veneer frames but cut off the frame part. I did rub each piece with brown stamp ink to disguise the natural cut marks.
With the arrows directing focus on the tasks at hand, how could I be lead astray.
