Fabulous Fawns Challenge #2 | OTT Embellishing

Hello lovelies!

Today we are kicking off another Fabulous Fawns monthly challenge. The challenge this month is Over the Top Embellishing. I want to see major embellishing going on on your projects. Show me your best OTT embellishing!

For my example projects, I created a cluster of embellishment across the page. These embellies are a mixture from the May & April Freckled Fawn kits. I really liked how they draw the eye across the page toward the photo.

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

Any type of paper project goes! Scrapbook layout, planner spread, card, gift, decor, etc. So long as it’s papercrafty, it counts.

Of course we want to see you showing of your lovely Freckled Fawn goodies, but the use of Freckled Fawn items is not required.

Enter the challenge in the linky widget below. The challenge will close on June 14th at 11 PM MST. A winner and top 3 will be announced on May 15th when the new challenge goes up!

Our winner from April is… Giorgia Rossini!

Huge congrats! Please email doe@freckledfawn.com to claim your prize!

My Girl Layout by Soraya

Hello lovelies,

Soraya here. Today I have a layout to share that I made using the April embellishment kit.

I added some adorable FF foam embellishment along with many April embellishments to this layout.

I made the title out of the April vellum alphas.

I layered the washi tape on the edge of the card stock for a fun look.

I used one of the April frames to frame the photo.

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a lovely day!

XO,
Soraya

Happy Gift Tags by Sandra

Hello lovelies,

Welcome to the FF blog today. It’s me, Sandra, and I would like to spread some happiness with three cute gift tags I embellished with just the right amount of decoration from the awesome April Embellishment Kit.

I cut three of the April journaling cards to a rectangle shape, cut of the upper corners with a scissors and added a hole at the top for the golden thread.

The colorful stripes of the first tag really make me smile. They remind me of summer, fun and happy days. I added some golden thread and one of the cute chipboad stickers from the April kit.

For the next tag, I used the journaling card that has all those fun frames on it. I added three of the wonderful cork stars and the chipboard sticker saying ‘enjoy this’. This gift tag is great for decorating any gift.

And here comes the final gift tag I would like to show you today. Like the other two, this one is also really effortless to make – just cut the journaling card and add a puffy star and a chipboard sticker. Done :). I really like the floral border – it’s so beautiful. Don’t you think?

I’m hoping you like my gift tag inspiration. Have fun creating with your FF April Embellishment Kit.

XO,

Sandra

Weekend Getaway Traveler’s Notebook Spreads by Kim

Hi there, Kim here!

We recently went to Columbus Ohio for a rare weekend getaway! I wanted to document some stories from this journey and why not do it while fresh in out minds hearts- on the way home in the car!

I used the April Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit for these three layouts as well as a new blank travelers blank notebook insert.

Which at first glance is quite bright and floral-ly but it is so modern and sharp at the same time!  (I love the polygon shapes!)

Yellow and black are surprisingly stricking with purple, a color combo I’ve not used before! Using the screen shots from Instagram Stories and Snapchat I saved them in a grid photo collage and printed them out at a Walgreen’s as we were leaving town. Not bad for $1.05! The frames and journal cards we great bases for two of the pictures.

On the next page, I used a more subdued palette, teal and red/pink.  2 more journal cards were bases, but also the sticky note paper was one as well!  I also was a bit cheeky, using one of the long enamel diamond stickers as a torch in honor of Olympian Jessie Owens.

My last double page was for the zoo.  The green journal card was perfect on an angle while using several of the chipboard “lovely day” stickers as accents.

And no, my handwriting is much to be desired for but not bad for a jiggly car with no table. Not a bad use of time, a couple of hours, plus my documenting is complete!

Thanks y’all!

XO,

Kim

Hello lovelies,

This Place Scrapbook Layout by Jen

Hello lovelies,

Jen here!

I love the acetate frames included in the April kits. SO MUCH! For this layout I decided to smoosh some ink on the background in the same colors as the frames and I love the way the coordinating frames look on top. It created a nice little backdrop for my photos.

The black and white puffy cameras are so cute on their own, but I decided to customize them here by using alcohol markers!

Adding some die cuts and enamel dots from my stash and chipboard pieces from the kit were the perfect finishing touch! You can watch my process in the video below!

Jen

Bible Journaling with Kim

Hello lovelies,

Kim here!

Today I played along with Freckled Fawn’s new sketch challenge for April. I love challenges: they take a whole lot of guess work into designing a layout AND it gives you an opportunity to use your fabulous kits!

For this month, I used my April Planner kit in my Journaling Bible.  To play along please check out the FF Blog post for all the details about entering!

Using those fabulous transparent frames, I highlighted the verse I wanted focus on, Isiah 52:1.

I then printed out my daffodil out on transparency paper. It makes the whole layout a little less heavy with a see through picture of this type, in my humble opinion.

I then used those fabulous purple velum letters from the April Kit along with the foiled cork stars!  I added a few more sentiments from the chipboard pieces and colored the black and white camera for added pizzazz on the page as well as fulfilling on the sketch layout description.

I hope you guys participate in this challenge.  Freebies are always a plus but…. having fun while creating are the sprinkles on the cupcake icing!

XO,

Kim
