I created the sketched title and some sketched hearts using my cutting machine. I sketched these directly onto white card and then added extra colour with my water colour paints.
I also added lots of the clear wanderlust quote stickers to the background. I love the travel theme to these stickers and as I have just got back from holiday, they were perfect!
Once I was happy with my background, I added in my photos. I layered a couple of journal cards under one of my photos to make it pop a bit. I added in a rose gold To Do paper clip and a foil epoxy flower sticker.
I finished off my using that gorgeous rose gold foiled woodgrain washi tape – I added a narrow strip at the top and the bottom of my layout and added some machine stitching through those strips. I also added machine stitching through my title.
I have put together a process video for this layout which you can view below.
Hello Lovelies! Candace with you today to share a double page 8.5×11 layout all about the magic of the beach. I love the beach and the only thing that is almost as good as going to the beach is scrapbooking photos of the beach! I love the light and ethereal feel of the water and sand in the photos and wanted the photos to act as the focus of the layout. To keep the layout photo-centric I knew that I needed a light and simple color palette.
When I received the August kit along with the wood slices from the Freckled Fawn shop I knew I had all the perfect elements to create my layout!
I started the layout by using a 2″ and 3″ circle punch to punch out photos for the spread. I knew I wanted to keep the bulk of the embellishments and photos on the left side of the spread while placing my journaling and title on the right side.
I also punched a 3″ circle out of the one of the new journaling cards in the shop. I love the sentiment on this card! Perfect for this layout!
To add a little more contrast to the simple colors on the spread I added a few pieces of black chipboard from a past monthly kit and an enamel heart on top of the circle wood slices.
I love a simple font in my alphas. The cork letters in the shop are perfection, plus they matched the colors of the layout!
To finish off the right side of the spread, add just a touch more color, and to tie the left and right side together I added the “explore” acrylic sentiment.
I adore the final layout! Simple and beautiful, just like the beach! Make sure you stop by the shop to pick up all the goodies that I used and document those memories!
I was inspired by the acetate doilies in the kit and chose to use these for the main focus on this layout. I cut some larger doilies from white card using my cutting machine and stuck a coloured doily to each one. I then arranged eight of these in a circle shape on my layout and stuck them in place with a small amount of adhesive. I then added stitching through all the centres of the doilies in a circle shape using my sewing machine. I went around three times.
Once my doilies were safely stitched in place I added foam pads underneath the doilies to make them pop up a little bit and added my photo, mounted on patterned paper and a journal card.
I added epoxy shape stickers to the doilies, a printed floral wood chip to the right of my photo, and a camera that I cut from another journal card.
For my title I used the filigree doily which I attached some gold metallic thread (but also stuck in place too) and I added the words ‘picture perfect moment’ to that doily which I had cut earlier from one of the journal cards.
I finished off by adding some of the clear wanderlust quote stickers and some gold flicks of Color Shine.
