When I began my layout, I chose my background paper and embellishments to color coordinate together. Because the background paper had so much going on, I didn’t add any mists to it like I normally do. I put my focus all on my embellishments. I chose to place my photo on the bottom left corner this time with my title centered below the photo. I layered my pink embellishments over the pink area of the paper and the same with the blue embellishments over the blue area of the paper. They add a lot of detail, but color coordinate together so it doesn’t take to much of the focus away from the photo.
Lastly, to balance the layout, I added a small embellishment cluster in the top right corner of the page. I used the ice cream cone chipboard sticker, a phrase sticker, enamel dots and more tangled thread.
Here’s another look at the final layout:
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope I’ve inspired you to layer up your colors and not be afraid to use your embellishments! <3
This time I’m sharing a layout I made using the July kit and some older embellishments!
To start off, I chose a patterned paper, trimmed the edges and sewed it to another paper.
I chose some of the acetate frames from an older kit and placed them on the sheet. Then I used matching colors to sprinkle some splashes behind the frames!
I then took the alpha stickers from the July kit and placed them randomly inside the frames.
I matted my picture on some tissue paper and placed it in the middle of the page!
With some new and older embellishments I decorated the frames, placing one item in each frame!
I finished the page with black Thickers for my title!
I absolutely ADORE this months kit! The colors are bright and the fonts are perfect! I started by splashing the background with some mists from my stash behind where I knew I wanted my main clusters to be. Here’s a closer look:
Once those areas were dry, I began layering my photo first because I knew I wanted to use the larger chipboard banner as a larger focal point below my photo around my title. The alphas in this months kit are perfect for titles!
I love the “Shine On” and “Summer Bliss” embellishments and thought they would work perfect with this pool picture of my son and his friends at his birthday party!
Lastly, I added in two of the acrylic hearts, washi tape and a few more of the chipboard phrase stickers to finish off my embellishing. I did add in my date above my photo on a label sticker and added in my journaling below the photo. Here’s another look at my final layout:
Niki back with you today with my final layout I made using the July Embellishment kit. You’ve probably figured out by now that I love big bold elements on my layouts and this one is no exception. I was inspired by the cute watermelon icon in this months kit so made a large one to make up my background. I cut the different colours using my cutting machine and positioned them onto my background, then poked holes using my paper piercer and added handstitching in coordinating colours around the edges of each layer. This is a technique I love more and more each time I do it and it’s easy too, just a little bit time consuming due to the stitching, but so worth it!
Once I had my background stitched, I then added my photo. I added layers under my photo with some papers but also with the label stickers and items from the chipboard sheet too. I also added that gorgeous washi and of course, the watermelon flair! I also used the very cute ice cream paper clip, some glittery arrows and added my title using the vellum alphabet. I fiished off with some paint splatters and also added some chipboard phrases I had leftover from June’s embellishment kit.
Thank you so much for joining me today, I can’t wait to see August’s kit and to start creating with it!
Odessa back again with another pocket page layout using the July Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit! I’m sharing another page from my weekly family album. This page is a mix of fun photos mixing up the end of the school year with the start of a fun camping trip! And what better than such a fun and colourful kit to get it all documented?!?
After laying down my photos and journal cards the very first thing I did was lay down some of the fun washi that came in this month’s kit in each row for a bit of bright yellow balance. I then went in with some of the labels from the kit and got some journalling in there. I then went in with some chipboard words both from this month and last month’s kit as well as all sorts of chipboard pieces, the adorable rubber phrase pieces and finished it off with the super cute watermelon flair and resin hearts. So basically all the embellishments. Ha.
I finally went in and used the glitter icon stickers and vellum alpha stickers for final emphasis in my layout. And voila. Done! It’s a lot of photos that don’t really go together other than being in the same week but using such a coordinated embellishment kit helps pull them all together.
Hi everyone, Niki here with another layout made with the July embellishment kit. This layout was totally inspired by the resin two-tone hearts that were in this month’s kit. I happened to have a piece of paper full of similar two-tone hearts so figured these could go together very well.
I began by fussy cutting lots of the hearts from the paper and arranged them onto my layout. I stitched through the middle of each one using my sewing machine and then I added my photo. I then added in as many hearts as I could! So I’ve used the wooden paperclip, the resin hearts (all of them!) there’s hearts on the vellum behind my photograph and I also used all of the glittery heart stickers that came in the July embellishment kit too – both the white ones and the turquoise ones.
For my title I’ve used the chipboard word ‘together’ that was on the chipboard sheet from this month’s kit. I’ve also added in a few strips of the fabulous bright yellow washi tape with those great words and phrases on, and I’ve used a few of the label stickers too. I finished off my layout using the vellum alphabet stickers to add a few appropriate words to my layout.
I have made a process video for you to watch on my channel which shows my process for making this layout.
Hello Lovelies! Candace here back with you today sharing a fun layout using the July sketch. I am a pretty simple scrapper. I like lots of white space with intentional embellishments. The July sketch is right up my alley with lots of space to add journaling and fun, simple embellishments. Here is another look at the sketch in case you missed it.
I started my layout with a smooth piece of 8.5 x 11 card stock. I printed out my photo at 4×6 and backed it with patterned paper to create a border, or frame, like in the sketch. I placed the photo stack on the top third of the layout to create space on the bottom for a large title and simple journaling.
For the title I used the “adventure” acrylic and the “together” chipboard. I adhered the acrylic piece with three simple hand stitches. By using the hand stitched detail it not only adheres the acrylic to the paper but adds special detail and dimension. Instead of doing traditional journaling I thought it would be fun to use the chipboard phrases under the title. I love the fun sentiments on the chipboard and a new take on telling our family story. Under the chipboard phrases I used the ADORABLE letter stickers to add the location of the photo along with the year.
To mimic the small embellishments in the sketch I added a few of navy enamel hearts. I created a visual triangle with the hearts and finished off the spread with the sun chipboard. The final spread, though simple is a perfect reflection of our day and my feelings about it.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! You can pick up the goodies that I used on this layout in the shop.
The chipboard pieces, like the sun, star and phrase sticker, add fantastic dimension and texture to your layout. If you have concerns about them being too bulky on your page, just take an xacto knive or even the point of your finger nail to decrease the bulk of the paper layers, to what ever height you would like.
Then run it through a Xyron machine or add you’re own adhesive to add it to your layout easily!
This corner I got a little goofy, split the watermelon chipboard in 2 and made it into an emoji-like dude with drawn teeth and an enamel dot eyeball. Those alpha stickers, printed on super think and lux vellum add a great, fun font choice to this view. And don’t forget to document some memories along the way, which I did with the label stickers and a picture of my favorite Luke!
There are so many details in the this layout, from the glitter icon stickers to the resin two toned heart, I can always stop back and see something I didn’t know I had put there before! Thanks for joining me today and I would love to see how you use the embellishment kit in your planner!
This cute chipboard sun is from the Admit One Chipboard Stickers like the “be in the moment phrase” on the photo next to it. I love how the White Puffy Script Alpha Stickers look over the photo! I normally don’t cover my subject with embellishments but I want to try to layer more photos with stickers and acetate pieces.
