Hey Fawns! rukristin here today sharing a traveler’s notebook mini-album I made for my partner for Valentine’s Day.
Each Valentine’s I make him a small album of my favorite photos of us together over the last year. I keep the journaling simple and to the point with single sentence reasons why I love him.
I modified a Traveler’s Notebook to give myself room for ten pages of photos & journaling, a big centerpiece page, and then a front and back cover. I did this by taking out a few of the center pages and then gluing pages back to back. Which conveniently makes them much stronger as well.
On each page, I stamped a number onto one of the button stickers from the February kit. I added a photo from my Polaroid Zink portable printer. I added a simple sheet of patterned paper on the opposite page (I rotated four patterns throughout the album).
One of my favorite techniques to use in a mini-album, is to create a centerpiece page. There are so many pages and photos and bits of journaling throughout a mini-album, that I hate when I get bogged down with tons of embellishments everywhere. I always feel like my pages are competing with each other when that happens.
For my centerpiece page in this album, I chose the center of the album, and used phrase stickers from the February kit to create a patterned paper like background. I opted for a strong contrast with big bold black foam letters.
Thanks so much for taking a look at my album.
